I Wannabe Where the Mermaids Are…

Today, I ventured out to Coney Island, where it just so happened to be Mermaid Day! Right off the train, I grabbed a lunch from the original Famous Nathans and headed to the board walk to eat my picnic. How was my lunch? Well, in the drawn out words of Megan Hilty, it was disguuusssssstttttiiiiiiing. You can’t win them all, right? The parade was fun (it was an artsy community parade where anyone can enter if they are dressed up) and had every thing from baby mermaids to dancing pirates. Afterwards, I went walking along the beach, which, while it felt weird to be strolling in sand while still in New York City, was a wonderful way to spend the evening.
