oral surgery

i visited an oral surgeon recently and I have a surgery set up for next monday. I'm a little freaked out. The lady said they would give me an IV and I would feel it, but then they'd give me gas and make me go to sleep. It sounds scary so I plan to put on a fake "i-am-not-scared-what-are-you-looking-at?" face. They are going to pull my last baby tooth then dig out from the gums the last permanent tooth (which is up there somewhere, but not in the right place). Then they are going to put a chain on it that the ortodontist will use to pull the tooth into the right place. Is it just me, or does that sound painful? Oh well... I'll get to miss like three days of marching band b/c doctor said "no hitting near the mouth" and I've taken that to mean "no twirling." Lori said that would be fine but if I feel up to it I can come and not twirl... I'll think about it. It depends on how I feel... honestly

random: My ankle hurts really bad. Those twirling shoes hurt. My daddy gave me an ankle brace and told me to wear it.

It has begun

band camp started this week. Majorettes go from 8-11 and then again from 1-5:30. The bad part is from 8 to 8:30 (ish) we have to run (is it a mile?). It is way to hot to be outside. Oh well. We did finish the Schools Out routine. It is pretty cool! We were also given most of our stuff yesterday (minus bloomers, boots, and sequin costume). I did get pep outfit, shoes, ribbons, bag, watercooler, warmup outfit, and jacket (has my name on it! woot!). Our gogo boots are supposed to be ready by fri. I'll try to get pics up for ya'll soon!

today I went iceskating for Elizabeth's sweet 16.
it was very amusing...
the other girls quite obviously have not skated.
I have my own skates, but they weren't sharpened.
I called the dude and asked if he would sharpen 'em.
he said yes.
I get there... guess what?
sharpening machine is broken and has been for some time.
why didn't he say that when i called this morning? huh?
oh well
I just rented a pair... but I didn't feel special.

Whirlwind of a day

I got to church and they inform me that the power is out. What does that mean? No piano (keyboard) or organ. Just me and the guitars. It was scary 'specially since I had never heard these songs before.

CYO dinner and a movie was cancelled. Cahallan said we can't have a movie night when there is no power. I see his point, however, I was hungry and smelled pizza. He said he had already bought the food and was planning on freezing it but I could take some if I wanted to. I did. I took 3 pieces and felt a little bad about it but he said I should take a whole box and eat it, he wouldn't care.

After dropping Elizabeth off at her house (1st time she even came to dinner and a movie and it was cancelled!), I headed home.

I was home and ate two of my 3 pieces when my phone rang. It was my daddy. They had been in a wreck.

I drove out to the farmville Baptist church to see what I could do. Daddy loaded up all his stuff in my car and told me to take Codi home while he rode to the hospital in the ambulance with my mom (who, upon my arriving, was being taken out of the car on a stretcher).

After we got home (codi and I)- wait, let me first say that driving home was hard. I kept thinking I too was going to wreck, the fog was incredibly thick, and Codi was wailing in the backseat. I am a good big sis though; I know how to make Codi feel better. I let her pick out ANY movie she wanted to watch and gave her my last piece of pizza (good thing I got three, eh?). Guess which movie she picked? Yep. Harry Potter.... again.

Anyway, I ended up driving to the hospital at 10 o'clock (latest I have been out at night I might add) to pick up my mom and dad. Both are fine. My mom had some xrays taken and was given a prescription for something, but both are fine.

One week of band camp down.... Several to go

We had our first twirling camp this week. Here's a brief run-down

• Lori's apt had flooded so we hung out at the mall (funness!)

• I totally won with an impressive (not!) 93
• Tuesday
• ridiculously hot
• actually practiced and learned a lot of "School's Out"
• lunch at McAllister
• swimming at Ashton park
• icecream from Brusters
• more swimming
• babysat Hunter (was already asleep when I got there!)
• Wednesday
• tried on uniform parts that have come in
• practice a bit more
• pedis (I didn't get one though...)
• lunch at Zaxby's
• went to Katie's and watched "High School Musical" and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"
• went to bible study and Open CYO
• we played life
• I suck at life *he*he*
• came home and made Texas toast yum!
• this was only after I tried to go to Little Caesar's and buy some crazy bread. The door said they closed at 11. It was nine. Door was locked and no one was in there. I was MAD!

So that was my nifty week. I slept late today for I was tired.... I'm about to go see "The Lakehouse" and I'll let ya'll know how it was!

VBS

I am helping with vbs.... in the choir/music class part! I have to sing and dance for all the kids. problem: I cannot sing or dance! Eekk! The songs are typical vbs songs.... just not ones i have ever heard before! Imagine. Someone who cannot sing teaching songs she has never heard before. poor kids. It was fun from my point. I have to go back every morning this week... but that's ok!

I just got back from ATL again....
this time I saw RENT!
It was great...
but our seats were way high up!
One problem: band too loud (or mics too soft?)
Other than that I liked it.
After the show, we saw the cast come out!
Lauren and I got pictures with Warren G. Nolan Jr. (collins) and Ano Okera(angel).
It was soooo neat!
Then I got a cookies and cream milkshake.
